Newspaper clip!

We made it to the news! The Clitheroe Advertiser and Times recently published the following article about our visit. It may be a local newspaper, but they were kind enough to take some time to tell our story and celebrate our visit, and we are most thankful for it! Additionally, I'd like to thank Andrea, who send this text and picture to the paper, and Judith, who posted it to me.
The pleasant ways of our English friends will never cease to surprise me!
Cheers, everyone!

Inglaterra 2012

SO! Let’s get to it… what should you do if want to be a part of this unforgettable experience?

Please tell us, as honestly and clearly as possible (in English, of course):
  • Why do you want to be part of this experience?
  • What do you expect to get out of it?
  • What do you hope to contribute with?
Send it by email to jeronimogz@hotmail.com
Deadline: September 10th, 2011

If your words convince us you are the type of candidate we are looking for, we will contact you for an interview.

Andrea's visit

In April we received the visit of Andrea Yates, assistant headteacher at Bowland High School, in Clitheroe, UK, one of the schools we will be visiting in July. We tried to show her around and let her know about our city, our food and traditions, so in a short week she had an intense school-visiting, motorboat-riding, asado-eating, horseback-riding (and more and more food and drink tasting) experience!
We all enjoyed enormously Andrea's visit, and hope to have you all visit us some day!!

Patty Getzrow

Hi! I am Patty Getzrow and I will be one of the teachers taking on this exciting journey with a great group of kids.

First let me tell you a bit about myself. I have been working at the Yapeyu school for the last fifteen years as general coordinator of English studies – that is English as a second language, so you can say that I have known most of the students on this trip since they were around three years old – This makes the trip extra special , what a way to say good-bye to them that are in their last year of school. I work all morning at school supervising English clases in the whole school and in the afternoons I manage my own English languaqge center. Although teaching is my passion I rarely give classes anymore but I work with teacher staff on class and curriculum development and teacher training.

I am quite out-going and seem to stand out , so the kids say, because of my friendly attitude towards people and ability to smile in most situations.

I love the idea of visiting England once more, last time I was only sixteen, and I am looking forward to visiting schools and seeing the North of the country.

I plan to try everything , taste everything and get to know all that I can. I hope to also bring ideas and concepts to share with students and colleagues alike for cultural and educational growth that can be of mutual benefit to us all.

Thank you so much for all that is being done to make our trip a great one and I am anxious to see you soon.

Julieta Del Piano

Hi! I am Julieta Del Piano from Corrientes (Argentina). I am 17 years old and I’m looking forward to traveling to England. It has always been one of my dreams to be there for a while.

I would like to share with you a couple of things about myself.

I am an only child who enjoys hanging out with friends, especially at weekends because during the week I am really busy. Due to the fact, I attend English lessons two times and I am starting gym in one week. Also, I do my homework in the afternoon.

I love traveling, discovering new places and learning about new cultures. Whatever, I really enjoy learning a lot of things.

I like doing outdoor activities such as riding horses or wandering around the riverside. Since I was a little child my mother spark my interest in animals (I have two dogs that are considered as a part of my family).

In my spare time I like reading about different topics, either philosophy or psychology. I enjoy watching television and, sometimes, being alone to spend time with myself.

As regards musical preferences, my favorite band is “The Beatles”. I also like “Aerosmith”, “Queen”, some songs of “Coldplay”, among others.

At the moment I am looking for a career to study, I haven't decided yet, although I am really interested in economies.

This is a brief description of myself. If you want, you can add me to Facebook.
